From the 8th August to the 24th August 2008, the Games of the XXIX Olympiad were held in Beijing, capital city of China. In recent years, Beijing had renovated the city at a historical level. Beijing welcomed athletes and friends from all over the world during the 16 days of events. On the evening of 08/08/2008, the opening ceremony of the Beijing 29th Summer Olympic Games was held at the National Stadium in Beijing. It's said to be the most spectacular show for the Olympic opening ceremony in history, and watched by about 35 million viewers on NBC TV in the United States alone. NBCOlympics.com also registered 70 million page views on that day, its heaviest traffic ever.

The "truly exceptional games" are over now, but from this site you can still find some memorable moments of the 16-day 2008 Olympic Games, and as always find some information about Beijing, a nice place to visit even after the games are over.
